FABULEN™ brings a more imaginative expression to AVENELLE™, transforming concealed storage into the form of an illustrated decorative book.

A large stylised elephant forms the centrepiece of the design, rendered in a gentle palette of soft grey and white. Its sweeping silhouette extends across the cover, accompanied by simplified leaves and botanical forms in muted green and warm yellow, with small dark accents bringing definition to the composition.

Against the pale neutral ground, the restrained palette gives the illustration clarity without making the piece visually overwhelming.

The book-form construction is fundamental to FABULEN™’s character. Its rounded spine side, broad cover proportions and distinctive page-effect edge work together to create the appearance of a substantial illustrated volume when the piece is closed.

Rather than simply decorating a conventional box, FABULEN™ makes the appearance of a book part of the storage itself—an object designed to invite a second look before revealing its practical purpose.

FABULEN™ measures 30 × 21 × 6 cm, giving it the broad proportions and relatively slim profile of a substantial decorative volume.

Along the exposed edge, closely spaced horizontal detailing creates the visual impression of layered pages. Combined with the illustrated cover and book-like proportions, this feature strengthens the design’s distinctive visual identity from different viewing angles.

Inside, the book-form structure provides discreet storage for smaller belongings while allowing the closed piece to remain comfortably on display.

Every FABULEN™ storage book is fully handmade, with the production process carried out by hand from cutting through assembly.

An MDF structure provides the underlying form, while the exterior is finished in faux leather and the interior in non-woven fabric.

Its character comes from the complete composition rather than a separate applied ornament—the structured book form, softly illustrated exterior and page-effect edge working together to create one coherent decorative object.

The result is storage with an element of discovery: practical in purpose, but deliberately unexpected in presentation.
